Sustainable Product Design: The next big thing

With the goal of transforming our current system into one that implements sustainable product design, the EU is creating a plan to encourage the implementation of circular economy. In theory, it will create a new field of jobs and draw less on natural resources. In addition, encouraging businesses to produced sustainably encourages consumers to consume sustainably by creating durable and trustworthy functionality, making products easy to maintain and repair, and using materials that create less pollution. Hopefully, similar measures will be implemented into other areas of the world in such a way that systems are connected so materials can be reused and redistributed in a way that maximizes material potential through upcycling or repurposing.
