a)
More then 60% of my waste was paper/cardboard waste, with about 20% food waste, 10% plastic and 10% textile. (Just returned home this morning so not much trash to go through, and the meal was eaten out.)
b) A way to improve the quality of my data would be to have a larger sample size. This can be achieved by waiting for trash to accumulate over a day or two and then once again sort it. Additionally, a way to obtain a more accurate data set would be to go through the bin on a day when my whole family is home, and eats their meals here as well.
c) We seem to always have a lot of paper waste in the house. Although all of it is recycled, a way to decrease the input volume would be to unsubscribe from paper magazines, and rather than using paper towels as often as we do, invest in washable towels to clean messes.
